Advance your nutrition career with The University of Alabama & Keith & Associates Distance Dietetic Internship (KADDI) combined MSDI program, an innovative and fully online pathway designed to prepare you for a successful future as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

MS in Human Nutrition + KADDI Dietetic Internship

In partnership with The University of Alabama, KADDI provides students the opportunity to complete the 30-credit-hour Master of Science in Human Nutrition while completing the KADDI Dietetic Internship. This fully online MSDI program enables students to complete both their graduate degree and required internship hours in under two years.

In partnership with KADDI, The University of Alabama offers a comprehensive 30-credit-hour Master's in Human Nutrition. The program is creatively designed to provide foundation knowledge before starting coursework, integrate class assignments with experiences in the internship, and assure advanced knowledge in the field of nutrition and dietetics.

Internship directors work directly with university faculty to align assignments and activities, allowing students to complete the internship and master’s degree in less than two years.

Program Overview:

Fully online, 30 credit-hour MS in Human Nutrition
GRE Score is not required
Online students pay the same distance-learning tuition rate regardless of residency
Tuition: $480 per credit hour for a total tuition of $14,400 for the entire program (10 classes = 30 credit hours; $480 × 30 = $14,400).
Financial aid may be available to students who qualify
Students may request transfer of up to 12 graduate credit hours, subject to approval by the MS program and the Graduate School

Curriculum Highlights: The program offers foundational graduate coursework in:

Research methods in nutrition
Metabolism of energy nutrients
Advanced vitamins and minerals
Advanced nutrition counseling, maternal and infant nutrition, or nutrition support for the critically ill

APPLICATION STEPS FOR MSDI

Admission to the KADDI Dietetic Internship and admission to The University of Alabama MS in Human Nutrition are separate processes. Students must complete both applications and meet the admission requirements for each program.

Step 1: Apply to the Internship

Please follow the application steps outlined on the website under the application process
- All applicants will use DICAS to submit their application

Step 2: Apply to Graduate School

Students who do not possess a graduate degree must be admitted to the Master of Science in Human Nutrition from The University of Alabama to be considered as a candidate for the Dietetic Internship (MSDI)

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS FOR MSDI

Students who have already completed a graduate degree or started a graduate degree prior to applying to the dietetic internship should contact the director of the internship for options to complete program.

Successful completion of the dietetic internship and the master's degree allow the student to meet the requirement to sit for the registration examination for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

Students must complete all requirements of the dietetic internship and possess a graduate degree to receive a verification statement.
