Total costs are estimated at $12,500 - $15,000 depending on your living expenses and geographic location. Costs and payment due dates are the same for full- and part-time options. Below is a detailed breakdown of expected costs.


Before match:

  • DICAS fee - pay $45 to Dietetic Internship Centralized Application Service for first application and $20 per application thereafter

  • D&D Digital - pay $55 to D&D Digital to participate in the national matching process


After match:

  • $10,750 tuition

    • First payment of $5,375 due upon accepting appointment. This payment includes a $1,295 non-refundable deposit (see enrollment agreement). Second round match appointees have four weeks to arrange rotation schedule and secure preceptors before first payment is due

    • Second payment of $5,375 is paid on first day of orientation in Tulsa

  • $300 – $400 book and software expense

  • $60 Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics student membership dues

  • $75 Nutrition Care Manual subscription

  • $100 - $200 for uniform clothing (nonslip shoes, khaki slacks, collared shirt for foodservice, lab coat if required by facility)

  • Physical exam

  • Health insurance (cost variable depending on your policy coverage)

  • $1000 for travel, lodging and subsistence for orientation week in Tulsa, OK (may be less if you choose to share a room with another intern)

  • $36 ServSafe certification exam required (if not already certified get information at

  • $50 American Heart Association Basic Life Support course (no other certification is acceptable)

  • Transportation, living and professional clothing expenses while you are in the program are geographically variable (depends on where you live)

  • The following expenses are paid by Keith & Associates (professional liability insurance, drug screen, criminal background check, RDN exam review, electronic time log and competency tracking via Typhon system, legal fees to execute affiliation agreements with facilities on student’s behalf)

  • Interns must take and pass a final competency exam. Exam proctoring fee of $25 per exam payable to Examity.  


After program completion:

  • Graduates pay $200 to Pearson Vue to take Registered Dietitian Nutritionist exam

Compensation and Loan Deferments POLICY

The Keith & Associates Distance Dietetic Internship program does not offer financial aid, scholarships, stipends or compensate students who are enrolled. KADDI does not participate in federal student financial assistance programs administered by the U.S. Department of Education.  Some, but not all, lenders will allow educational loan payments to be deferred during the internship with a letter stating that the internship leads to eligibility to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians/Nutritionists.

After matching when the intern returns the signed enrollment agreement and first tuition payment, KADDI will provide upon the student’s request:

  • Official letter with effective dates of enrollment, program accreditation and licensure status and a statement that the program provides the supervised practice experience required in order to earn the verification statement needed to take the Registration Exam for Registration Dietitian Nutritionists that is required prior to entry into the profession.

Any external financing (e.g. bank loans) must be arranged prior to accepting the appointment. The second tuition payment is due the first day of orientation in Tulsa. KADDI does not offer a payment plan program.

KADDI interns who enroll in the optional masters degree programs may apply for financial aid through the University of Central Arkansas or the University of Alabama.
